18115 Campus Way NE Bothell, WA 98011 (425) 352-5555 [email protected] May 4, 2020 John Lim Entrepreneur-in-Residence Stripes39 1414 Northeast 42nd Street, Seattle, Washington 98105 Dear John Lim: While I was looking through Handshake for local job prospects I discovered your open application for the Game Design Intern position. Going through my journey of completing my Bachelor’s for Interdisciplinary Arts at the University of Washington I have gone through the trials of creating art and short stories that reflect my own quirky interests and personality. As a passionate art student, I have developed skills in creative writing and have the adaptability t work with different types of art mediums ranging from digital to traditional. Several of my creative works including my creative writing and oil painting have been published in my college’s art journal, Clamor, in the 2019 and 2020 issue. I strive for success and completion which has earned my Certificate of High Scholarship by placing myself on the Dean’s List for 2018-2019. Even if I’m faced with situations that I’m inexperienced in I will do my utmost best to overcome any obstacles that come my way. What compelled me to this position was that this internship was for AZN FLUSH. As a Cambodian American, the thought of potentially working for a company whose demographic is aimed towards Asian Americans is exciting. Since I have worked at Gen Con LLC in Seattle which has a fantasy-culture orientated company, I figure this is my chance to work in a game development environment that aligns with my interest in hobbies that are considered niche in culture. Though I have strong skills in creating traditional art such as painting and drawing I also have skills in using digital programs such as Photoshop and Paint Tool Sai. I also have experience in working in a large-scale group project in my contemporary Muslim Art’s class where we had to create larger than life-scale mannequins for an art installation. which helped me appreciate the means of divide and conquer. I look forward to discussing this opportunity with you further. Please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or (425) 352-5555 if I can provide additional information for my application. Thank you for your time and consideration.
